PROYECTOS > BANCA SKATE BAQUEDANO (2006)
During practice skate in the skate park Baquedano in Santiago de Chile, the general public and skaters do not have a suitable place for relaxing and watching the other skaters, so generally occupy areas intended for tricks, breaking the sport, and attacking their safety and that of others. To understand the routine of the skater, me and my team became skaters. During the afternoon we began to frequent the Skate Park Baquedano. In this way information was gathered firsthand, watching practice the athlete, who at all times is with skateboarding. This creates a two-tier projected height so that the whole audience can sit and watch practice skate without back support. Recognizing that the skater is at all times with the skateboard at his side, an area of low relief projects in the stands, space where you can support the board and take a rest position. The stand is designed in reinforced concrete so that it is a permanent, modular and replicable public furniture at low cost.
